Advertising your product as being powered by 'AI' to keep up with the hype around artificial intelligence when it is just powered by regular ol' software code could get you in trouble with the Consumer Law... it is important to make sure your product actually matches what you are advertising.

Lately there have been quite a few people who've asked me about the impact of training artificial intelligence using personal information on privacy policies. So, I thought I should share this article from the National Law Review, which provides guidance on what to add to the Privacy Policy for an organisation that is training AI using customers' personal information. As you can imagine, much of it is common sense and is in line with the principles of transparency and giving consumers control over how their data is used. For those who are more concerned about the Australian Privacy Act, these changes should also be considered if you are training AI. While not all the same rights are available to Australian residents, they soon will be and taking a lead on this will demonstrate to your customers you can be trusted with their data. #ai #PII #privacypolicy #datahttps://lnkd.in/gitGaFFq
