Thermostatically controlled fans, side rails, and in excellent shape. That's a buy.

1200 is the average rate on ebay I don't see the deal here, if it was the c2300 tube type then absolutely buy it.

For a local it the way to go. Nothing worse than getting something shipped to you and it has issues. I am currently going through a MAJOR headache trying to get $2600 back from a MAJOR douchebag in NYC. Hopefully paypal will rule in favor for me as I have a claim going on. So yes, local is best when possible......even if it isn't the deal of the century.

I see them go regularly for around 2500. This one is in the best shape I've seen.

Some folks only think fire sale prices are a deal.

No, that's a deal for sure. It looks super clean, and with the side rails. I would be on a plane tomorrow if it was a 1Y and had certain modifications to the back. The guy is not blowing smoke on the description. That is way worth the asking price. No way you will find one this clean on the bay for $1200. This one is a keeper. Hope someone has the courage to grab it ASAP.

The last 3 or 4 MC 2300s sold on eBay were all rough pieces which explains the average of $1,200 you're seeing. Many were used hard in commercial applications.

Choice units are usually closer to $2,500 - $3,000.

I'm here... I'm sure it's a great investment but the price point is still too high to make it "gettable".

I spent that on a ratty old *car* last year... not sure I can convince the better half that I need to "invest" in this guy... :tears:

Thanks for posting, though.

Thank you rave0035!!! It is too high, its just the going rate. If it was a real "deal" it would have sold by the first night. Let's see how long a nice pioneer sx 1980 at 1k last on cl since you can double and triple your money. It wouldn't last a couple hours.

Btw im a couple hours north of him, if i seen value in it I would have went this morning to pick it up.

You're comparing an exceptionally clean Mcintosh 2300 with side rails to a Pioneer receiver:lmao::lmao::lmao:? That 2300 is a damn good deal for someone in the know that want's a quality vintage Mcintosh amp.

You totally missed tbe obvious. How long would a clean 1k sx1980 sit on cl vs this marantz??? Exactly it would have already been snagged. If you could double or triple your money you know it would already be gone.

Nice clean new looking sansui 9090db $700, better buy it because you can double even triple your money. See where its going? Knowing your not going to double or triple anything.

Plus there's a beautiful marantz near mint with box mc2500 its big brother for bin 3k obo and that's still sitting there

Ok understood; you're in this game for a much different reason than I am. I look at gear with the idea of owning something I want and not of a flip.
