We are hiring an Electrical /Instrument Engineer to join our team.

The DuPont Yerkes site located in Buffalo, New York employs approximately 400 DuPont employees and another 30-60 contractors. Comprised of two business units, Yerkes includes: Corian® (Sheet lines 1 & 2, Finishing), Tedlar® (Polymer, Mix/Casting, SP, Treating/Finishing), and Power Generation (water, air, steam). The units work independently to produce materials that are used in a variety of products including: countertops, building panels, wall covering, solar cells, and surface finishes for airplanes, cars, buses, and trains – to name a few.

Your Key Responsibilities:

• Support DuPont Core Value initiatives including Safety, Environmental, Process Safety Management (PSM), Ethics, and Respectful Workplace.
• Develop and execute Electrical and A&PC upgrade strategy for the site to minimize unplanned downtime and support top line growth.
• Develop and execute engineering projects (cost and capital) involving the application of established electrical, instrumentation, and process control technologies.
• Provide input into Multi-Generational Technology Plan (MGTP) from electrical and A&PC standpoint.
• Provide electrical and control support for new project Front-End Loading (FEL), commissioning, start-ups, and special procedure development.
• Provide technical leadership and support in troubleshooting complex electrical and control issues.
• Participate in technical Root Cause Investigations (RCIs) for incidents and near misses.
• Perform periodic technical reviews and revisions of Standard Practice & Standard Operating Procedures.
• Serve as a technical resource during procedure creation and review.
• Provide technical input for Management of Change Technology.

Qualifications:

• Technical Degree (BS, MS) in Electrical Engineering.
• 8+ years of experience in a manufacturing or related industry.
• Demonstrated success in managing and leading both long-term programs and projects as well as addressing short-term operational issues.
• Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of electrical engineering concepts.
• Demonstrated understanding of the maintenance, repair, design, and installation of instrumentation to include pressure, level, flow, temperature, and control valves.
• Previous expertise and understanding of distributed control system (DCS) architecture and demonstrated skills in configuring, documenting, and troubleshooting of Rockwell PLC and DCS systems.
• Fundamental understanding of Process Safety Management (PSM) systems.
• Knowledge and experience related to safety instrumented systems.
• Understanding of Risk assessment principles.

The Pay range for this role is $94,920.00 - $149,160.00 Annual

Each role has an associated pay range (or an established pay rate for some roles) based on the competitive market in each country where we operate. Each individual’s pay is based on a variety of factors, including their role and the associated pay range for that role, their geographic location (i.e., country, state, metropolitan area), as well as their skills, experience, education and certifications, and performance.
