His 5-year-old cousin was rescued after the girl's relatives saw her go under. The child was rescued and then taken by ambulance at 3:18 p.m. Relatives and others then began searching for Ronald, but he wasn't found for some time. The ambulance was called about 4:50 p.m. Ronald's mother apparently was at work, Burke said. Ronald lived at Samuel Gompers Homes, a public housing complex.

Kymmetria lives at Orr-Weathers, also a public housing complex. Drug Dealers In Public member was from Yunnan province, which borders Burma, a major source of heroin. Two others were caught with 34 pounds of heroin, the Legal Daily reported. Heroin from Burma has poured into China in the past decade, touching off a wave of addiction. China launched a crackdown on the trade in March.

Ira W. Sims, a Metro East real estate developer and former business owner, died Friday (July 18, 1997) at Memorial Hospital in Belleville. He was 76. Mr. Sims, of Belleville, was a real estate developer in East St.

Louis for about 25 years, where he developed land that he owned. He owned a mobile home park, coin-operated laundry, car wash, a lumber yard and several office buildings within a fiveblock area of State Street. He served in the South Pacific, Caribbean and Mediterranean areas from 1945 1 to 1949. He later served in the Army in the Korean War. He joined Jay B. and Marie Smith at their Maplewood funeral home, 7456 Manchester Road, in 1949 as an apprentice embalmer. Mr.

3, 1910 in Seneca, SC, the son of Edgar Alphonso Hines and Mary Woodbury Moore, he was preceded in death by his parents and by his wife of 61 years, Helen Louise Orwig Hines, also by his brother Edgar Hines and his sisters Nell Hines Harris, Nancy Hines Brigman, Mary Hines Beard and Leoloa Hines. He is survived by his children, Michael John, NanJohn Christopher, John Moore and John Stephen, other survivors include his sister Elizabeth Hall of Dillon, SC, grandchildren Jennifer Young, John Campbell Hines, Daniel Hines, Michael P. Hines, Nathan Hines, Chris Smith, Susannah Pearce, Andy Smith, Caleb Davishines, Benjamin Hines, Joshua Hines and Rebekah Hines and 3 great grandchildren. He was educated in public schools in Seneca, SC, received a B.A. degree from the University of the South (Sewanee) in Sewanee, TN and a B.D.

degree from the Virginia Theological Seminary (Episcopal) in Alexandria, VA. As an ordained Episcopal priest, he served parish churches in Hannibal, MO, Augusta, GA and Houston, TX from 1935 to 1945. He served the Episcopal Diocese of Texas as Bishop Coadjutor from 1945 to 1956 and as Diocesan Bishop from 1956 to 1964. From 1964 to 1974 he served the national Episcopal Church as its presiding Bishop. He then retired to the mountains of western N.C.

with his wife; they later moved to Austin. His biography, John E. Hines "Granite on Fire" by Kenneth Kesselus was published in Oct. 1995. He will be buried next to his beloved wife in the family plot at the Church of the Good Shepherd (Episcopal), Cashiers, NC.
