How Long to Cook A Pork Loin in the Slow Cooker

Cooking a pork loin can be a little tricky to try and decide just how long to cook the pork to get the perfect amount of tenderness, without overcooking the pork. The size of the pork is important to note. Small pork loins will cook fast, while bigger pork loins will take a while longer.

A general rule of thumb is to cook the roast for 2 hours per pound on LOW heat or 1 hour per pound on HIGH heat (you might have to adjust the time for high heat, depending on how your slow cooker cooks).

When you are ready to eat, just make sure that when it’s done cooking, your pork loin has an internal temperature of 145 degrees (you can test it with a meat thermometer).

  1. Sue says:

I notice that you only list a cooking time with the crock pot set on high. Could this be safely cooked on low and if so how long would it cook for? I'd love to do this on a work day but the 4-5 hrs. listed just isn't enough time.
    LOVE your site~thanks so much!

  2. Sue says:

    Thanks SO much!!

  3. Heather & Nick says:

You gals are the best. I had no idea what to cook for dinner, and I had all the ingredients for this recipe! THANKS!!!

  4. Jessica says:

Oh my gosh, YUM! I definitely know whats going on my grocery list for next week! Can the pork loin be frozen or does it need to be thawed out?

  5. Heather & Nick says:

FYI this was so good! I used a frozen roast (it was smaller - only about 1 lb) and it still cooked in 4 hours on high.

  6. Six Sisters says:

    Hi Jessica!

I think it would work fine if your pork was frozen. Just check that it is cooked thoroughly before serving! :)

  7. amsavit says:

How many people does a three pound tenderloin serve?

  8. Six Sisters says:

I would say 3 to 6 depending on your serving sizes. :)

  9. Melia Lesko says:

this was really good. At the grocery store, I got a package with 2 pork tenderloins and I made one to give to a friend with an ill husband....it was slightly less than 3lbs, but that was OK bc the cranberries come in 14oz can, not 16oz can. My husband liked it (although he prefers the traditional oven baked or grilled tenderloin) - this one came out so tender it was almost like pulled pork. I will definitely make this again!! It was cooked in about 6 hours on low.

  10. Maryam says:

Do I need to add any water with it?

  11. Six Sisters says:

No water. The best pork loin ever!

  12. Sue H says:

Do you sear the tenderloin at all before putting it in the crockpot?

  13. Cyd says:

We did not sear the tenderloin. Just put it in the crock pot.

  14. Toni says:

Is there anyway to roast this in the oven so I can double it for Christmas dinner?

  15. Lori says:

This recipe was so good I was eating the sauce with a spoon! I searched the internet for something to do with fresh cranberries and pork tenderloin (the sealed package with two in it ) and I'm so glad I picked this recipe. I made a quick fresh cranberry sauce to use instead of canned, used dijon instead of yellow mustard, and added a sprig of fresh rosemary. I will definitely be sharing this recipe and making it again.

  16. Vickie says:

Hey there - I have a 6.5 pork tenderloin that I would LOVE to make with this recipe....just curious...I know I need to double to ingredients.....what are your thoughts as to the crock pot cook time? Still 6 - 8 on low? Thanks!

  17. Cyd says:

That's a nice sized roast. I would think it would be around the same cooking time, but watch it closely and make sure it's all the way done. May take closer to the 8 hours. Be sure to double the other ingredients! :)

  18. Christine Brennan says:

Love this recipe... I used a stuffed pork roast and instead of Worcestershire sauce I used Maggis ketjap manis... Really came out great... Thanks so much for this simple recipe...

  19. Darlene says:

Though I was not sure about how the ingredients combined would taste, we really liked this recipe! Used the cornstarch & water for gravy on mashed potatos. A nice change from the cranberry, onion soup & Russian dressing recipes have used before.
