{Free Printable} 52-Week Savings Challenge - What Mommy Does (2024)

Recently I had some requests for an extended version of my 26-week savings plan. I decided to make this a 52-week long savings plan – it’s so simple it’s almost ridiculous!

All you do is start with $1 in Week One. Then every week after that you add $1 to the amount you’re saving for the week.

That’s it! If you do this, you’ll have a cool $1,378 extra in one year’s time! Imagine if you did double this?!

$1,378 is plenty of money to buy all the Christmas gifts on our list when we’re sticking to our Christmas budget, so that’s what I’ll likely use ours for.

It’s also enough to go on a mini vacation with our family of 5. So that’s another option. I suppose I should have made this Christmas colors since that’s what I’ll use it for! 🙂

If you find yourself in a catch-up situation where you need the final total faster than 52 weeks from now, then simply add up the amounts to date and make that your starting contribution. After that, start the normal $1 incremental increases.

Easy Ideasto Save Money This Year

Saving money doesn’t have to be a chore. The minute I start to feel deprived, I start day-dreaming about when I get to stop penny pinching! I prefer to make a game out of saving money. Here are a couple ways I know that will save a good bit of change in your bottom line each month (assuming you’re not already doing them)!

1) Ditch Cable to Save Money

If you still have a cable TV subscription, this might be a good time to drop it and save yourself a nice chunk of change! I just found out that Amazon is offering a FREE 30-DAY TRIAL on its instant video streaming.

I use Amazon video to watch some of my favorite shows, including the highy addictive Downton Abbey! 🙂 We ditched cable tv a couple years ago (it was costing us over $150 a month!) and now exclusively watch TV on our Amazon Fire TV stickwhich is free with our Amazon Prime subscription that’s only $99 for an ENTIRE YEAR! We tradeda $150 per month subscription for a $99 annual fee….such a good deal! We never run out of shows to watch on Amazon video. My kids even love their original shows like TumbleLeaf (shown below)=>> Try Amazon Video for Free

2) Triple Stack Coupons for the Most Savings at the Grocery Store

It might sound crazy at first, but you can actually get triple savings on some purchases (especially groceries) if you play your cards right. It takes a bit of time…I think when I was doing this a lot, I spent about 3 hours a week on it. But it was totally worth it to save hundreds of dollars per month! This post explains exactly how it works: How to Triple Stack Coupons
