How to Make CrockPot Kielbasa with Potatoes and Green Beans

I've included complete instructions in the printable recipe card at the bottom of the post, but here's a quick version.

  1. Wash and cut potatoes into small cubes. I choose not to peel the potatoes; however, you can if you prefer them without the skin.
  2. Cut smoked sausage into bite-size pieces.
  3. Wash and cut up fresh green beans or open cans.
  4. Toss potatoes, sausages, and green beans into the CrockPot.
  5. Pour between a cup and a half of chicken stock and season to taste with the seasoned salt.
  6. Cook on low

Preparation and Storage

Make Ahead: This dish takes eight hours to come together in your slow cooker, giving you plenty of time to work on other menu items or simply relax until it’s time to eat.

Storage: Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator and enjoy them within three to four days.

Freezing/How to Freeze: Freeze leftover Kielbasa with Potatoes and Green Beans in an airtight, freezer-safe container and enjoy it within two to three months.

How to Reheat: Reheat leftover portions using your stovetop or microwave, depending on how many servings you need to prepare. If you are reheating a large batch for a full dining table, you can transfer reheated leftovers to a CrockPot set to low.

Recipe Variations

Substitutions:

You can use 1.5 pounds of fresh green beans or four cans of canned green beans, depending on what you have in your kitchen.

You can replace the seasoned salt with regular salt if you don’t have it in your pantry, but we don’t recommend replacing this ingredient since it fills out the dish's flavor.

Garnish with shredded cheddar cheese, add in garlic powder to customize this easy dinner.

Vegetarian Option: Replace the kielbasa with a plant-based substitute and chicken broth with vegetable broth to make this recipe vegetarian and vegan.

Gluten-Free: Look for gluten-free labels on your kielbasa, chicken broth, and canned green beans if using canned over fresh to avoid cross-contamination.

Smaller Serving Size + Larger Group/More Servings: The written recipe makes eight servings. Scale it up or down to your desired yield, working in batches as needed according to your CrockPot’s capacity if you scale up.

Make It Spicy: Add a few dashes of red pepper flakes to your slow cooker Kielbasa with Potatoes and Green Beans to let them take on heat as they cook.

Sugar-Free: The written recipe contains 3 grams of sugar per serving. Please remember that the final nutritional content will depend on the exact ingredients you use in your dish, so check each label if this is a dietary concern.
